1 - ADOLESCENT RIGHTS AND GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE IN LEGISLATION IN JORDAN

 

 This study undertakes a comprehensive review of laws and legislation related to Adolescent Rights, and the protection of the women against Gender-Based violence.  The long-term objective is to promote a better understanding of adolescent needs and issues among policy makers, legislators, health service providers, parents and community leaders; to address issues on reproductive sexual health of Adolescents; to address issues on Gender-Based Violence; and to intensity advocacy activities for crimes of honor, violence against women, nutrition, health, and education for girls.

2 -  The Arab Population in 2002

United Nations population Fund in Amman / Jordan issued research about  "The Arab Population " in 2002. Discusses the demographic profile of the Arab populations growth, age structure, mortality and fertility through their transitions. Also Urbanization, education, reproductive health, maternal mortality, contraceptives, adolescents, poverty, war and conflicts, motherhood, malnutrition, family planning,  from 1950 - 2002, with estimated figures for the period 2002 - 2050 based on projections.

UNFPA shows the strategic approaches which followed for improving gender equity and the status of women, reproductive health and family planning in the Arab world, strengthening  information, communication and education efforts positive changes in attitude and responsible toward population issues, and strengthening  the capacity and capability of governments to institutionalize the process of formulating, implementing, and monitoring responsive population policies.
